St. Amare A patron saint of love among the shrouded mountains of the Ebony Wreath. St Amare loves love and is always looking to pair up anyone they fancy would make a good match. They are known to work closely with St Florrie to pair up just about anyone.
Amare's favored method of matchmaking is encouraging the pair to write heartfelt love letters to each other. Sometimes Amare will even hand deliver them! |
Amaryllis An extremely talented, but extremely sleepy, mage pouflon that lives in a small cottage in the fields of Goldfair. While her potions and charms are widely regarded as top quality magical goods, they often take a long time to get to their consumers as she spends half of her time working and the other half of her time in bed.
Nevertheless, she is a pioneer in the field of alchemy- her potions, whether they were meant to be experimental or not, often yield revolutionary magical discoveries. |
Arkadia Before Queen Nouvel took the throne, Arkadia was a prominent member of the royal military force. He was skilled and efficient, the driving force behind many successful missions and quests... until his sudden disappearance. Years later he was found to be living a new life in Banelaire, and despite his grave offense, was granted a pardon by the new queen.
He lives a relatively peaceful retired life now in the Vespire city. His neighbors know him to be grumpy, reclusive, and generally disagreeable, but not a bad pouflon deep down. |
St. Asphodel Asphodel sometimes mysteriously turns up when a pouflon has passed away- presumably, to lead away or comfort their departing soul. Her quiet, soft-spoken nature and her apparent line of work have both led to plenty of superstitious and unfavorable opinions of her - her subtly villainous portrayal in lore as the harbinger of death also contributes to her bad reputation among pouflons. Despite this, she still maintains a polite if sad disposition around others
|
Auster A young knight studying in the knight academy of Obrille. Interested in helping other pouflons but unsure of how to do so, his family enrolled him in the knight academy- an easy feat with their wealthy status as successful farmers in Goldfair. Very scared and uncertain at first, it's taken time for Auster to get used to the lifestyle, but he shows a unique determination and consideration that shows clearly past his small stature.
|
Avalon A strong, confident pouflon in charge of a huge farm in Goldfair. Avalon proudly supplies her crops of flowers, fruits, and vegetables across all of Bellacoste, establishing herself as a top farming competitor, as well as a household name.
Despite her success, she does occasionally feel a little unmotivated and lazy in regards to her farmwork- but she always greatly appreciates a helping hoof. As part of the huge pouflon family sporting sizable cow horns, Avalon has plenty of relatives scattered all over Goldfair. Quincey is a cousin of hers, who regularly stops by the farm to see how she's doing. |
Axel An intrepid adventurer and treasure hunter. He holds a growing reputation within the Ebony Wreath for his successful exhibitions into the hearts of the mountains, almost always bringing to the surface something valuable, and previously unheard of.
While he has his obvious motivations, the intrigue of discovering and exploring something new about his species' rich history is not lost on him. Though some might be skeptical, he does feel passionately and genuinely about his line of work |
Azariah the Arbiter
One of the few remaining Ancient vespires, Azariah is the leader of the Strata of Ebenshir, charged with the protection and upkeep of the Lucid Altar and Banelaire. She takes her duty very seriously, sleeping upon a pile of geodes to protect them until they are ready to hatch.
Azariah also presides over Rallies, ensuring that they are fair and end peacefully. A common sight in the belly of Banelaire, the Arbiter is generally kind, if distant. Some have spotted her playing with newly hatched geodes. Most know her for her voice, a deep alto that makes the gems in the Altar sing. |
BreadA new expression of endless love between two hearts. Bread is still young and unsure, more concerned with navigating their world than knowing the trouble their own existence stirs up. Watched over by their loving and at times over protective parents, Bread is learning quickly how to slip by unnoticed, or at least so they think.

Chester & Mochi
Corisande A confident and friendly, if not slightly flamboyant individual, Corisande is the owner of the renowned Roseacre Galleria. She always enjoys the finer things in life so makes sure her vendors are the best that Bellacoste has to offer. She has a sense of knowing exactly what her customers need, even if they don’t know yet themself, so is always on hoof to help whether it’s needed or not.

King Ericius
The current ruler of Aequor, King Ericius comes from a long and proud line of royal capricorns. Militant but not unkind, the king can come off as a bit brash or cold to the uninitiated. His focus is Aequor first-- the safety of the submarine kingdom is of the utmost importance to him. He upkeeps the powerful spells that protect Aequor from strong currents, eruptions and attacking monsters.
His true loves, however, are his children-- numerous and colorful, he refers to the princes and princesses as his treasured Pearls of the Sea. |
St. Elidi A powerful and controversial saint, St. Elidi befriended a fire spirit when she was a mere sprout. It took years for her to control the burn, a path that left many unfortunate mishaps in her wake. Still, the wisest ursuki know that sometimes you need a little fire to make space for new growth.
Despite her fearsome appearance, St. Elidi is warm and welcoming. She is the light during Firsden’s darkest nights. |
Elizavet A duchess of Roseacre. She upholds a high reputation in Roseacre and in much of Goldfair with her kindness and charm, bolstered by pristine manners and etiquette.
While she spends a lot of her time hosting tea parties and socializing, she does value the importance of her status and wields her power responsibly, unlike some other pouflons of high birth in Roseacre. She seems to know more than she lets on and keeps most of her cards close to her chest- for example, most pouflons are surprised to learn that she's actually an accomplished knight. |
St. Florentine (Florrie) A very excitable and sprightly pouflon; Florentine, or Florrie as they prefer to be called, is responsible for delivering the summoning letters to pouflon parents-to-be. Extremely proficient at flight and also quite adept at singing, they sometimes indulge in singing out the good news to their letters' recipients.
Florrie happens to be able to see the aura of a pouflon's nature. If they believe that two pouflons have compatible auras, they are very enthusiastic about the two pairing up- insistent suggestions that can result in either happy relationships or disgruntled, embarrassed friends. |
Princess Fiorel Queen Nouvel's daughter, Fiorel is well-bred and fully aware of it. Not quite as honorable as her mother yet, her adamant and prickly nature drives off any hopeful consorts and royal playmates. The only pouflon that seems to enjoy her company is the messenger Quincey; whose rowdy attitude Fiorel finds, ironically enough, noisy and distasteful.

St. Hart A jovial fellow, St. Hart was born into guardianship of the Heartwood. Even at a young age he demonstrated unparalleled ability to commune with the forest and encourage growth. Despite his power, St. Hart has a tender approach-- unless he’s telling jokes. Those hit right in the face.
Large and in charge, St. Hart is nevertheless always a friendly ear in Firsden. Utterly devoted to his mate, St. Elidi, and their wayward son, St. Veti. |
Jishui The more eccentric of the twins, this traveler has quite taken to Bellacoste and has immersed himself in the culture. He is a bit awkward with customs and body language, almost as if he isn’t used to the body he’s in.
While he’s the more temperate of the twins, friendly and quick to chat, Jishui is prone to bouts of self absorption. He can be a bit stiff about accepting when he’s wrong about something, but is usually quick to apologize once he’s realized how rigid he’s been. He can be found with Tejat more often than not. |
Kit A charming young pouflon, more frequently traveling than not. He is polite and softspoken, but also generally reserved and keeps to himself- his own interests and issues, of which there are many, are usually at the front of his mind.
Despite losing his tail at a young age and being under the influence of a strong curse, he is unusually adept at spoken offensive magic. His practice with song has also led to a small side career in being a bard, which he uses to gather up coin while on the road. |
Lavern A pouflon of many talents, Lavern is wise beyond her years due to the many students she has taught through Bellacoste’s elusive Riddlock school for magic. She is straight talking, but doesn’t mind letting her students have a little fun with their studies as long as they get the desired result. With a natural affinity for healing Lavern also works as a specialist physician for the palace, always on call if queen or her court need her assistance.
|
Knight Marleau A brave knight with a dedicated sense of duty, Marleau is not part of the queen's official cavalry but has still forged a strong name for herself in pouflon society; the tales of her adventures and vigilante justice are common household stories. She tends to forgo most consideration of self in order to serve the greater good.
|
Milo Sometimes called Miles, Milo is an aspiring photographer who travels around Bellacoste taking photos of all the sights and wonders of the island. It's common for him to take photos of pouflon and scenery that he enjoys as mementos of his travels. He can be quite shy and bashful, but he loves what he does!
He works part-time for the Roseacre gallery and does all of the official class portraits for Asterfall! |
Princess NaiaThe youngest daughter of King Ericuis, the current ruler of Aequor. Naia is one of the “pearls of the sea,” though, she could be considered everything but. Playful, loud, naïve, and extremely curious; she has spent most of her life under the water, hidden away from the world above the land. All she wants to do is see the world and see what she’s been missing above the water.
Despite her age, Naia is already very adept with magic. It’s more intuition than proper schooling, which much to her family’s chagrin has resulted in some… explosive incidents. |
Queen Nouvel The current monarch of the pouflons. She is by no means a conventional leader- thorough and hands-on, her methods and ideals go against most traditional policies and are not commonly agreed with by other members of the court. Nevertheless, she has the will to push most of her ideas to fruition, and always has the welfare of her subjects close to heart.
She is also the keeper of the Dawn Garden, a job she sometimes finds difficult because of her lack of delicate finesse. |

Maestro OctaviusAn elder quill, Maestro Octavius has witnessed and withstood the dizzying rise and staggering fall of his people. Unwilling to let go of the old ways and forsake the remaining elyvians, he holds onto power with an iron grip. As one of the few that still remembers, he is unwilling to let their old life become history.
While some of the old guard remain, as the elyvian population dwindles, fewer follow in Octavius’ footsteps. His insistence on upholding not only their traditions, but their lavish lifestyle, has become contentious in recent times. |
OpheliaTrapped in the unforgiving elements of Brouzet for many years, Ophelia had long since shut her power down. All in the name of longevity and preservation, should she ever be called upon to serve once more. When Terryn’s spell woke her from her dreamless sleep, her consciousness was slow to return, rising from the depths of an unsteady core.
Once Ophelia shed the sands of time, something in her changed. No longer content with merely serving, she has a journey of her own to undertake. Her runic core is comprised of the claws of a vespire with far too many regrets for her casing to contain. |
Pan
Born to an affluent family of pouflon nobility, Pan was all set to inherit their titles and land. That all changed when she shed her bloom collar and surprised everyone in attendance by shapeshifting into a vespire. Rather than risk the family name, Pan was abandoned with all due haste in Marshgrave. Nobody expected her to survive, much less flourish-- but when the Sickle Sister found her, they soon became closer than her former family could have ever been. Pan lives on in the swamp, now unafraid of her shapes, warden of Marshgrave and friend to those embarking on their own journeys.

Perth The current captain of the Queen's Guard, Nouvel's personal elite knight force. Perth is an incredibly skilled knight, trusted with any matter too important to risk mishandling, as well as a close confidant of the queen herself. She commands the rest of the Queen's Guard with unquestioned authority.
Her serious and dutiful qualities are undoubtedly what make her an excellent captain, but even the queen sometimes wishes that she would lighten up a little. |
Quincey Even while working as a high-profile royal messenger, Quincey has retained a fair amount of the playful, carefree atmosphere abundant in her rural homelands. Her jovial attitude can sometimes come across as obnoxious to the royal pouflons she works with, but the queen doesn't seem to mind it, so she stays in high standings. Quincey's personality especially aggravates Fiorel - so she found it only fit to become friends with the princess.
|
Romulon A humble pouf of somewhat royal origin, Romulon has been training for a few years in Obrille to follow their family's tradition of knighthood. However they harbor a secret and their mind often wanders beyond the borders of the town to their love.
More often than not Romulon slacks at their studies in order to slip away from Obrille in the dead of night, collecting love letters from their heart. Though they have rarely met in person, their bond is strong. |
Remiel Despite being quite young, Remiel is well known for being one of the leading magic researchers at the University of Asterfall. Incredibly adept with magic, Remiel teaches classes in advanced potion brewing and alchemy by day - and by night, obsessively studies the stars, trying to discern their secrets and meanings.
He is a very calm and quiet pouf that is always happy to listen to others problems and give a practical solution. Remiel's maturity and responsibility work well to support his quiet ambitions as well as making him a perfect fit for his role as a teacher and mentor. |
Saffron Unlike her sister Corisande, Saffron is a more soft spoken and down to earth pouflon with both her presence and her work. As the owner of many galleries and exhibitions throughout Roseacre, Citremery and Chrysanthos, she takes pride in showcasing all the artistic talent that Bellacoste has to offer.
As an avid painter herself, she can commonly be found scouting out new talents or setting up her easel in mystery locations around the land. |
The Sickle Sister This infamous pouflon lives deep in the heart of Marshgrave. Many a pouflon will hear of their fantastic magical feats, both benevolent and malicious, and come to them asking for a deal- anything from a simple blessing to a request for them to curse an enemy. Few pouflons actually get what they want from them- and few pouflons actually find them at all. Their trickery is known just as well as their magical prowess, and with subtle changes to their form they have been mistaken for multiple different pouflons.
|
Terryn A pauper claiming to be a prince, Terryn has been confined to a high security cell deep within Chrysanthos for an undetermined amount of time. He speaks like a noble but his veneer has faded after his time in the dark.
He claims to have knowledge of the inner workings of the palace. Is he telling the truth? Time will tell. |
Tejat Tejat is a ‘lon of few words, unless you call her a pouflon, and then you might get an earful about how she’s nothing of the sort at all. This traveler is the more begrudging of the twins, preferring to keep to herself and interact with Bellacoste only when absolutely necessary.
Quick to anger, Tejat has an extremely high opinion of herself and is reluctant to back down from any fight. She always believes she’s in the right, and when it’s proven that perhaps she wasn’t, she’s prone to long, brooding sulks. Bellacoste is here to serve her, not the other way around. Can be found with Jishui more often than not. |

Vespilet
Vespilet is usually besides themselves with longing. For many months now they have gotten lazy in their studies as a jewel crafter, listless in their delvings into the mines. They are hopelessly in love and their waking hours are spent only thinking about them while their evenings consumed with writing love letters. As often as they can they carry these letters out of the city and into a special hiding place.
Vespilet has been slowly gathering jewels from their apprenticeship that wouldn't be missed and saving to run far away from this place. Their only desire to be with their fated partner. |
St. Veti St. Elidi and St. Hart’s son, St. Veti left Firsden long ago on his journey-- and never returned. Heralded by many as the patron saint of Winter, St. Veti has made it his life’s work to make the dark winter months a bit brighter. He works through the coldest times of the year-- when most of his kind are hibernating-- to craft fine toys and magical objects to gift to the needy. Nothing pleases him more than seeing others smile.
Unusual for an ursuki, St. Veti hibernates during the Spring. |
Vionnet A prestigious young mage studying in Asterfall. Coming from a modest family in Snowhurst, she worked very hard to earn the funds she needed to enroll in Asterfall, yet has surprisingly bad study habits. Worshipping ancient tomes is not her idea of an exciting educational experience- she would much rather be learning hands-on magic techniques and seeing magical effects in action.
While she does her best to fit in to the extravagant culture of Asterfall, and enjoys it all the same, she maintains a soft spot for her quiet home village in the mountains. |
Wylie An eccentric young pouflon that seems to hold an interest in everything and everyone around them. They wander all over Bellacoste, unable to make up their mind on what they want to do and where they want to stay.
The one thing they have definitely decided on is their role as the 'badge bestower', intent on rewarding pouflons (whether they want to be rewarded or not) for whatever they do by giving them themed badges they made themselves. |
